St. George Foundation – SL Storm Makeni On SGBV Issues |

The St. George Foundation – SL had a one day consultative meeting for stakeholder on a project on sexual gender based violence (SGBV) on Tuesday 2nd March, 2004.
In an opening statement by the chairman of the Northern Social Development Officer, Mr. Mohamed B. Tarawally, he said the St. George Foundation –SL has been doing very well in (SGBV) issues and also to the government of Sierra Leone. He added that Makeni is notorious in violating children and women’s rights, especially on SGBV related issues. He concluded his comment by voicing out that, “it is an interesting step in being acknowledge and to understand SGBV cases and children rights” and encouraged the participants to pricelessly consider the preventive aspect. Mr. John Conteh of St. George Foundation hinted on child welfare issues, with the establishment of 19 community welfare committees. He concluded that the project is intended to help vulnerable people in preventive measures and responses to SGBV. |
