Former Head of State and leader of the defunct National Provincial Ruling Council (NPRC) Rtd. Captain Valentine Esegrabo Melvin Strasser has lashed seriously at the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (SLRFA) for what he described as “Nonchalant attitude” towards the welfare of the Wounded In Action (W.I.A) soldiers who staked their lives during the heat of the decade long rebel war.

Muslim Jamaat members of the Jamiul-Jalil Mosque (Temne Central Mosque) at Oldfield Street are in a serious dispute over the appointment of a principal; Imam of the Jamaat. In a letter of protest addressed to the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Serry Kamal, one of the groups called the Committee of Jalil members brought to the attention of the Minister the fourteen months old private legal suit taken by members of the above group against another group known as the “Panel” which include the current Imam Sheik Ibrahim Kamara.

Christian Thorpe is also in the spotlight for failing to pay benefits due to Commissioners and other Electoral Officers who either resigned or were sacked from the Commission after the 2007 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.
